European Biocides Directive 98/8/EC - Formaldehyde (Interim) Statement

We are pleased to confirm, that our sister company, Synthite, part of the Tennants Group of Companies and the UK's largest manufacturer of Formaldehyde solutions, will be supporting the continued use of Formaldehyde as a biocide under the terms of the above directive.

Synthite's Formaldehyde will be supported as the active substance (i.e. the biocide) and, specifically, for the application termed as Product Type 3 - Veterinary hygiene biocidal products.

As a consequence of this action, the agricultural community can be assured of the continued availability of this essential general purpose and highly effective hygiene control product (which has applications such as foot & mouth and swine vesicular prevention, hoof protection, general purpose sterilant etc, etc).
