Formaldehyde Monitoring Service

If your organisation uses formaldehyde it has a duty of care under UK Law to make sure that no-one is exposed to more than 2 parts per million (MEL) as a consequence of this use.

Tennants Distribution Ltd can provide equipment for your organisation to buy and use for monitoring personal exposure levels in air or for risk assessment purposes. Alternatively Tennants Distribution Ltd can conduct formaldehyde exposure monitoring for you and provide you with the results as hard copy or as a data file (.csv format which can be viewed and analysed using most spreadsheet applications including Microsoft Excel).

In order to conduct monitoring we will require the following:

  1. Free, unfettered access to the sampling point(s) chosen by you
  2. A mains power point near to each static sampling point
  3. A room or place for our staff to occupy whilst the monitoring operation is running
  4. The help, goodwill and indulgence of your staff!
  5. The instrument(s) used for monitoring will be the Formaldemeter™ htv-m and the results obtained will be within the specification tolerances for this instrument as published by the manufacturer PPM Technology Ltd. Samples normally will be taken every 3 minutes during the sampling period chosen by you. If “mobile” personal exposure monitoring is required the instrument will require to be carried in a jacket/lab coat chest pocket (provided by the customer) and worn by the operative.
